Oh happy day.....

So we had a sheriff knock on our door this morning and tell us that someone has painted up our fence real nice. He said " would you like to see a picture, so you don't have to go out in the rain." How thoughtful...I guess we were one of 30 fences that were decorated last night. Greg actually asked the sheriff, " Can I shoot them if I catch them?" He said no, just hold them down real tight. Considering the amount of guns in these ghetto parts we live in, lets just clean the fence. Greg is furious...really, steam is coming out of his ears. He put up the $6000.00 fence himself. The one clean panel you see is the one he already cleaned...It took 1 hour. So he is off to the store for more laquer thinner, rubber gloves and rags. After 6 days of snotty noses, fevers, hacking, coughing, puking sick boys and myself what a way to end the week. We are actually starting to feel better, so why not stand in the 40 degrees and rain and clean a fence.

A fun week

We are so excited for spring, but it keeps coming and going. One day snow and the next sunny and warm. So this week we were able to make snowmen, visit the aquarium, fly kites, paint the driveway, and Ronan tested his new trail-a-bike. Today we took them to the 3-D Under the sea show at the Planitarium. Please snow go away. I am done with you. This week we are planning a big camping adventure with the dog....shall be interesting. I will post pictures when we return. Greg is also finishing his job on Wednesday!! Well during the time I wrote this and posted the pictures, the dog has eaten another patch of dry wall, so time to clean up the mess.

Fishing

So this last Saturday was warm and sunny. Well warm for Utah anyways. It was in the 50's which feels warm compared to the usual 30's. Greg wanted to take the boys fishing. They all seemed to have a nice relaxing afternoon. We are trying to take Nani on as many outings as possible, because we have a camping/road trip along with a very long car ride to Oregon coming up, and I want her to get used to riding in the car. She is getting better, I even take her on short trips to the grocery store and library and leave her in the car and hope she doesn't eat the seats. So far so good. Fishing with her was not fun for me. I got to hold the leash. They all got a fishing pole. People were staring at us and smiling, so I'm sure we looked like a circus. Nani was desperately trying to get the ducks in the water, while I was trying not to go swimming, then she bit Greg's bait off the hook, which stuck on her tongue, then "mom, I'm hungry", "Mom, my pole is stuck in the reeds", "mom, I'm thirsty", "mom, I need a chair to sit on". Yeah it was fun for me. I'm looking forward to doing that again. In case you were wondering, No we didn't catch a thing, but Ronan managed to hit a duck with his cast. Does that count?

Thank you Grandma Reno!

This last week, Greg's mother (Grandma Reno) came for a visit. The boys really love her and had an enjoyable week! We tried bike riding in the park...but it was too windy and cold. We are so tired of being indoors and so ready for spring! So of course the day she left, the weather turned sunny and warm and for the past 2 days we have spent hours outside. Sorry Linda, I hope your trip wasn't too boring. We did get to go to the Planitarium though. The boys LOVED it and are still talking about it. They saw a 3-D dinosaur show while eating popcorn and wearing funny glasses. I had to hold them in their seats because they kept trying to grab the screen and touch it. Thank you for visiting us Grandma!

When Mama needs a break

So when they all get crazy, this is where I put them. In here, no one can make a mess. I'm just kidding. I came home from the grocery store and Greg was downstairs on the phone and this is where I found the kids. They said they were in Nani's fort. She didn't look impressed. It really is a great spot for them to play though...don't you think. So if you have kids, get a dog kennel. Stitch update.... Charley's are out, but a lovely scar is left, hopefully it will disappear. Greg's thumb is still a nightmare. Really, think horror film. He went in today to get the stitches out. They were grown in and only got 2 out and the wound split wide open. They told him to leave the bandages off for most of the day, because it is turning white. He has to go back in on Sunday to get the rest out. Okay too much info. Nani is healing fine. She got loose today and so was her Mexican boyfriend Chacho. I went over to get her and he was baring teeth ready to attack me. He wanted his lovely poodle girlfriend. She got in big trouble. No boyfriends for Nani!

Rough Week

The week is only half over and we had been to the emergency room twice. On Monday, Greg was determined to finish the basement and got in a hurry. After cutting his last piece of molding he reached down to turn the off the table saw and the saw jumped up and bit his thumb. Or maybe he stuck his thumb in the saw. We rushed off to the emergency room and found he had cut off the end of the bone and chopped the thumb pretty good on the end. The stitched up what they could and sent us home. The pain medicine is beating him up more than the thumb pain. He went off the pain meds, so hopefully he will start feeling better. This afternoon, Charley was walking down the driveway and the dog tripped him and he landed face first on a skate board. So we headed to the emergency room again and he now has 6 beautiful stitches right in the middle of his forehead. They actually wrapped him up in a sheet, then strapped him to a board injected shots in the wound and stitched him and he didn't shed a tear. What a brave guy! After his bath tonight, he said, "It's okay Mama, at least I got a reward." He is very excited to have the suringe from the hospital that they used to clean it out. Greg needs to get to the hospital tomorrow to have his wound checked, and the dog needs her stitches out on Friday. Then next week, both Greg and Charley need to go back to the hospital to have them removed. Wow! I could think of better ways to have fun. I hope your week is better than ours.

Ol' Edna

So, this beast is Edna. Yes, Greg has given his truck a name. Why it is a girl and one named Edna is beyond me. I refuse to drive it, because I have serious doubts that I will make it back home. Edna has a fantastic security system in it as well...no one can figure out how to start it, even if the keys were left in it. You have to give the keys a 1/2 turn (broken ignition), flick the switch up and push the big black button(on the right in the picture). NICE. He insists that this thing is moving to Oregon and he is going to drive it there, fly back and move the rest of us. I give up arguing about it. I lost. So I will send him with a 3 day supply of food, lots of clothes and a bike to get him to the nearest service station when she brakes down, and a big fat I told you so from me. Though I will have to admit, she looks better without the big ugly camper on the back, which made it completely impossible to see out of.
