Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was a fun one...We attended an amazing church service on Saturday evening with thousands of people. It was a feast for the eyes and ears...awesome music, hula dancers, ballet dancers, hip hop dancers, an orchestra...incredible. Best of all we heard a message from Nick Vujicic. He is a man born with no arms and no legs and has a heart full of Jesus. He was recently in Portland and I was disappointed that I missed him. His story is worth hearing if you ever have the chance. We also attended a service on Sunday morning at a church called Hope Chapel Olomana which we think we might call our church home while we are here. I have never attended a church where so many people worship like they are at a rock concert....so loud. I love it. Almost all locals, some of which we can hardly understand, including the pastor. One of the pastors weeps through his entire sermons. The kids programs look great, but the boys refuse to go and so they sit content with us.
We hit the beach for some sun. Ronan has to keep his head out of the water for 2 weeks and is very bummed about it. He got a nasty double ear infection, inner and outer ear, all from me cleaning the sand out of his ears. I thought I was helping him out by keeping him clean, but apparently the sand scratched his ears as I was cleaning them out, which allowed bacteria from the sea to get it. Be careful cleaning out your ears! He is on day 4 of fevers still, but that didn't keep him from going to the beach.

These crabs are huge and faster than lightning. You can't get anywhere near them. I took this picture from very far away.
Poor guy...he really wants to try snorkeling.

Charley can't get enough of it. He would spend the entire day in the ocean. We pulled him out when his lips started turning blue and his teeth were chattering. He says " I'm not cold" "But there are fish down there"

A man came out of the water and handed his spear to his family with an eel on it. We were told they chop it up and use it for bait for bigger fish. The boys thought it was a great show.

The easter egg hunt at church. They had so many people attending that they held the service at the local high school. Plastic eggs filled with melted chocolate...our candy is hardening in the fridge.
